CEO

As CEO, Sergio oversees the entire scope of HGLF to include ranch and oil and gas management as well as grant-making.  A nephew of the founders, Sergio led the GALO Land and Cattle operation for seven years.  Prior to these roles, Sergio spent 20 years as Vice President with the information technology and services consulting firm, CGI and worked  in London, Denver, Washington, D.C. and in Austin. 

He currently serves on the Board of Trustees at St. Edward’s University, as well as on the board of Austin PBS where he serves as the Chair of the Development Committee.  He is also a member of the Austin Area Research Organization (AARO) and the Philosophical Society of Texas. Sergio previously served on the boards of Con Mi Madre, Breakthrough-Central Texas, and the Austin Community Foundation. Sergio is also a mentor for aspiring board members through The New Philanthropists.  

A graduate of Princeton University with an MBA from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, Sergio lives with his wife Louise in Austin where they raised their three daughters.
